Biography, Dr. Marcel Silue

Marcel Silué is the Associate Dean of the new school of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) created in November 2013.

Prior to joining IUGB, Dr. Silué worked for over ten years with several European companies including: EUROCONTROL Research Centre; the European Organization for Safety of Air Navigation in France; RADIOSCAPE Ltd in UK; the Health and Safety Laboratory in UK developing mathematical models and computational simulations of problems in Engineering, Science and Finance. Dr. Silué also worked as an international consultant in the field of Computational Modeling of Environmental Pollution and acted as senior technical advisor to the Minister of Civil Protection of Côte d’Ivoire. He is also advising oil and gas companies on the Environmental Impact Assessment of their operations in the West African region.

After obtaining a First Class degree with Honors in Mathematics in 1995 at the University of North London (now London Metropolitan University), he completed his PhD. in Computational Modeling of Environmental Pollution at the Faculty of Technology of Brunel University, UK in 1998.

Dr. Silué has conducted research and provided technical services on pollution dispersion modeling and participated in European and International conferences and working groups in pollution modeling, monitoring and mitigation.

His areas of interests and expertise include: Mathematical Modeling, Computational Modeling and Numerical Analysis and Environmental Impact Assessment and Mitigation

Dr. Silué is a member of International Environmental network Leadership for Environment and Development Côte d’Ivoire branch (LEAD-CI).
