Issa N’diaye

Issa entered IUGB in September 2007 after the successful completion of his BAC C-Scientific Baccalaureate- from College Saint Viateur of Abidjan. At IUGB, he pursued a BS in Mathematics. He was Executive secretary of the SGA, participating in the re-enforcement of this institution through its reorganization into active committees. While at IUGB, he was selected in May 2008 as a representative of IUGB for the ‘Education Without Borders’ Program in Dubai (EWB 2008) based on his paper entitled “The Mis-Education”, which deals with the irrelevance of the educational system in Africa and its realities.

Issa transferred to GSU in August 2009, thanks in great part to a Scholarship granted by the President of the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire’s office. At GSU, Issa was the president of the Finance Society and a Financial Analyst in the student-led portfolio management team, managing around $300,000 on the stock market. He was also member of the International Association of Black Actuaries (IABA). Prior to graduation, he was selected as a nominee for the Panthers on Wall Street Program at GSU that enabled top students to meet with executives on Wall Street and identify potential job opportunities after graduation.

Issa graduated Cum Laude from the Honor’s College at GSU with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Actuarial Science with a minor in Finance, in December 2011.

In January 2012, Issa was hired in a proprietary trading firm called SMB Capital, based in New York, as an algorithmic Trader. His job consisted in designing and implementing computer models to trade a portfolio of equities, currencies and commodities on the New York Stock Exchange and the NASDAQ.
In May 2013, Issa left SMB capital in New York, and joined E&I Global Consultants, a commodity-focused international trading firm based in Arlington, Virginia. He started as a consultant and was quickly promoted Partner and Director for Business Development, covering the Sub-Saharan Africa region.
Since March 2014, Issa is working as the Senior Trader for “Le Conseil du Café-Cacao”, the Government Agency overseeing the Coffee and Cocoa industry in Cote d’Ivoire. Issa is in charge of developing, executing and overseeing sales’ strategies for Cocoa and Coffee, on the spot and forward market developed by “Le Conseil du Café-Cacao”.

Besides his work, Issa is a co-founder and Chairman at “Africa 5 Etoiles”, a foundation whose aim is to provide high-quality education to gifted students from low-income families. He is also a co-founder and investor in Ivorian start-ups spanning the mobile money, commodity trading and microfinance sectors. He is currently pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification and his next goal is to pursue the Program for Leadership Development (PLD) at Harvard University in the coming years.
