Both full-time and part-time faculty took part in the usual start of the semester orientation, organized a week before the start of Fall semester classes. This important event features workshops, information sessions and opportunities for faculty to present their research. It was opened on Monday, August 26, 2019, by the VPAA who welcomed the faculty, gave an overview of the current and future projects of the University and discussed some IUGB policies and other relevant points with faculty members. He also introduced Ms. Elaine Kerry, the new U.S. Department of State English Language Fellow at IUGB.
An innovation in this edition included a panel of three faculty members, who discussed Education and Development. The Dean of STEM, also, conducted a workshop on Zero Waste. In addition, different sessions were led by other faculty members, discussing Promotion of Reading through M-Reader; Students Inclusion in Faculty Research; Authoritative Reconstruction and Writing Skills; Capstone Guidebook Proposal; Leadership Skills in Group Projects as well as Research and Development Strategies.
In addition to the workshops, Ms. Kerry received assistance from Finance and Administration, Human Resources, Medical Center, Transportation and Security, IT, Library, and Student Affairs.
At the end of the event, the schools of BSS, STEM and the UPP had their meetings.
