Starting October 1st, 2019, the International University of Grand-Bassam (IUGB) will appear on the International Association of Universities (IAU) world map. The Association counts over 650 member universities and organizations in 120 countries, including 7 in West Africa (Burkina-Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal and Togo). Membership to IAU is only by application.
Created under the auspices of the UNESCO in 1950 in Paris, IAU is a non-governmental organization working in the field of higher education to encourage cooperation among its members. It is, thus, committed to offer opportunities for exchange and collaboration, advisory services and training, trends analysis and specialized portals.
Through its established partnerships with international organizations such as UNESCO, World Bank Group, Council of Europe and OECD, IAU promotes the interests of its members and the importance of higher education, placing particular emphases on values and leadership.
Being member of such an organization will definitely give more international visibility to IUGB and help it expand its partnerships around the world.
