His Excellence Mr. André Panza, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Angola to Côte d’Ivoire, and Mr. George E.W. Kassesse, First Secretary at the Angolan Embassy, visited the IUGB Offices in Abidjan. They met with Professor Saliou Touré, IUGB President, Mr. Samuel Koffi, Vice President Chief Operating Officer, and Prof. Ahmed Legrouri, Provost & Vice President for Academic Affairs.

After welcome words from President Touré, the Ambassador explained the main reason for this visit, which is to set up collaboration between academic institutions in Angola and Côte d’Ivoire. President Touré welcomed this initiative and indicated that IUGB will be happy to set up partnerships with its counterparts in Angola. He informed His Excellency that he met with Prof. Maria do Rosario Bragança Sambo, Angolan Minister of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, in 2018 in Cairo, Egypt, during the Third Africa Forum on Science, Technology, and Innovation. She showed a lot of interest in establishing collaboration between IUGB and Angolan universities.

President Touré and the two Vice Presidents presented a brief history of IUGB and its growth and development as well as its mission, vision, programs and future expansions. The Ambassador was impressed with IUGB achievements and promised to promote the University among academic institutions in Angola.
