Prof. Saliou TOURE, President of the International University of Grand-Bassam (IUGB), had the pleasure of receiving the visit of Mr. Edoh Kossi AMENOUNVE, Managing Director of the Regional Stock Exchange (BRVM) of West Africa, on Tuesday, February 28, 2023.
This visit is part of a partnership between IUGB and BRVM. Indeed, BRVM intends to contribute to the development of the financial and stock market industry through training. One of the main means deployed for this purpose is the creation of trading rooms in universities, allowing the simulation of stock market portfolios. This has already been done in several cities including Abidjan, Ouaga, Dakar and Cotonou.
The axes of partnership between the IUGB and the BRVM include among others:
- The creation of a trading room at IUGB which will be technically equipped by BRVM;
- The awarding of (4) excellence prizes to the best students of the next graduating cohort, during the commencement ceremony to be held on May 27, 2023;
- The awarding of (2) internships each year to IUGB students;
- Collaboration for trainings, seminars, conferences etc.
IUGB is delighted with this highly beneficial collaboration which will complement academic training, to give students practical knowledge of the financial and stock market industry and open up a door of opportunities for them in the careers in this sector.
Prof. Saliou TOURE warmly thanked the Managing Director of BRVM for his visit, his commitment to youth’s education and the promising future between their two institutions.
