Business and Social Sciences (BSS)

Welcome from the Dean of the School of Business and Social Sciences (BSS)

Welcome to the School of Business and Social Science (BSS) of IUGB. Since its establishment in November 2013, BSS has focused on building a top quality school capable of preparing students in business, information systems, political science and related fields to not only meet the workforce requirements of Côte d’Ivoire and countries in the region, but to also compete for leadership roles in the global community. They graduate feeling inspired and confident in having the knowledge and skills necessary to make a meaningful impact as they begin their careers and long thereafter.

Academic Programs within BSS and throughout IUGB are based on the proven U.S. model of higher education. BSS students follow the university’s liberal arts core curriculum and then choose from a number of bachelor’s degree majors and minors as listed under “academic programs.” BSS programs are very attractive. Indeed, the vast majority of IUGB students with declared majors are enrolled in BSS majors.

Even though IUGB has been granting its own undergraduate degrees, the University will continue its extensive collaboration with partner institutions in Africa, Asia, Canada, Europe and the United States. Currently, those partnerships involve: faculty and student exchange programs, study abroad opportunities, professional development programs and collaborative research and teaching activities.

Thanks to its diverse and highly qualified faculty body, BSS plays a critical role in helping to fulfill IUGB’s mission of providing a practical, technology-based education that puts graduates to work in resolving the development challenges and driving economic growth in Côte d’Ivoire and the region at large.

Please join in and support our efforts to educate and train future African and world leaders.

Yours sincerely,

Koffi N’Da, Ph.D.
Dean, School of Business and Social Sciences (BSS)
