BSS offers three academic programs that lead to Bachelor’s degrees in the following disciplines:
- Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with concentrations in: accounting, economics, finance, management and marketing.
- Bachelor of Arts in Political Sciences (BA POL) with a minor in: international relations or any other IUGB minor of interest
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Information System (BS CIS)
Bachelor of Business Administration
The deficit of both sound governance and best management practices is one of the major issues facing organizations in Sub-Saharan Africa. The Bachelor of Business Administration at IUGB trains qualified professionals and managers to meet these challenges.The BBA program is designed to follow the standards of higher education accreditation bodies such as the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB)
Graduates from the BBA degree program at IUGB will receive a well-rounded business education preparing them to embrace business careers at various levels and positions in small companies and large corporations in the Sub-Saharan region and elsewhere. They will:
- Demonstrate real-world problem-solving skills by using analytical and quantitative tools or techniques.
- Be effective communicators.
- Be knowledgeable about current local and global issues and business trends.

Bachelor of Arts in Political Science
Political science is the scientific study of states, nations, governments and politics. Because of the profound impact that those entities and processes have on our lives, political scientists spend much of their time seeking to explain the variation in outcomes that most affect the human condition. These include security versus vulnerability, freedom versus restriction, and prosperity versus deprivation.
The political science program at IUGB offers undergraduate students the opportunity to complete a Bachelor of Arts degree in preparation for a wide variety of career paths, including local and national government administration, public policy analysis, corporate-government relations, international relations, political activism, national security, journalism, etc.
By the end of the program, students will have acquired significant analytical, methodological, ethical, communicative, and collaborative skills. In addition, the program’s position within the School of BSS affords students the opportunity to acquire relevant leadership and management skills. Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems
The Computer Information Systems (CIS) degree educates students on how the use of computers and information systems support decision-making and enable individuals and organizations to be more creative and productive. The CIS program at IUGB provides students with the business and information technology (IT) skills needed to plan, design, develop, implement and manage CIS, leading to enhanced business performance and providing the organization with a competitive advantage in the global marketplace. It is designed to follow the standards of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).
Careers in CIS are available in nearly every organization, from the small entrepreneurial firm to the large one. Graduates from the BS in CIS have a unique combination of strong business and IT foundations that allow them to pursue either: (a) career in business with a strong understanding of how IT can help organizations achieve their objectives; (b) or an IT career with a strong understanding of how business objectives drive CIS toward achieving business goals.
