Dr. Jean G. TOMPIHE is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at IUGB. He joined the Business School in August 2016, after completing his Ph.D. at UCLA. He studies comparative politics and Methodology, with interests in state institutional building, insurgency, civil wars, policing, and terrorist threats in the Sahel. His current book project explores how best to understand the nature of the weak African states, to strengthen those poised on the abyss of failure, or to restore the functionality of some of them that have already collapsed.
