Dr. Burgess is currently Senior Lecturer in intensive English at IUGB. He was previously a teacher of English for Academic Purpose (EAP) at the Professional Development Institute, America University of Afghanistan (Kabul). He holds a PhD degree in Educational Technology and Applied Linguistics (2016) and an MA in International Development and Education (2009) both from Newcastle University, United Kingdom. He was hired by the same university as Research Associate, working on a range of education projects in Latin America and Africa. He also taught TEFL at CAN, a private language academy, in Spain for five (5) years and has experience in Teaching and Language consultancy. In addition to his teaching experience, he worked at National Traffic Services, UK as Account Manager then as Business Continuity Manager. His research interests include Curriculum development; Social and classroom discourse; Voice and Antobiography in International Development.
