Ms. Susan Strand holds a Master of Art in Teaching English as a Second Language from Simmons College (U.S.A.), a Master of Science in Immunology & Infectious Diseases from Johns Hopkins University (U.S.A.), and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology (Honors) from Michigan State University (U.S.A.). She began her international career as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Democratic Republic of Congo where she taught Science and English in a rural technical school. Ms. Strand has since worked with students and teachers of English around the world, from Afghanistan to West Africa. She is a lifelong learner and loves the richness of friends, language, and intercultural exchanges that being an English language educator brings. Her research interests include: Language development through reading; Inquiry-based learning; Community language programs; Teacher training and development; Teacher Associations.
